Federal Aviation Administration Requirements

 

The Commercial  Pilot Certificate (along with a second class medical certificate) on your pilot certificate allows you to "fly for hire". That is, you are allowed to make money by flying.

bulletBe at least 18 years old
bulletBe able to read, write, and understand English
bulletAt least 250 hours of flight time that includes:
bullet 
  1. At least 100 hours in a powered aircraft
  2. At least 100 hours Pilot-in-Command time
  3. At least 50 hours of cross-country time
  4. At least 10 hours of instrument training with an CFII
  5. At least 10 hours of time in a complex aircraft
  6. One day VFR cross-country flight of at least 2 hours and a total straight-line distance of at least 100 nautical miles
  7. One night VFR cross-country flight of at least 2 hours and a total straight-line distance of at least 100 nautical miles
  8. One cross-flight of at least 300 nautical miles with landings at at least 3 airports.
  9. 5 hours in night VFR conditions with at least 10 take-offs and landings at an airport with an operating control tower
